Hey whats up world!
SO this is the first time I have ever blogged in my whole life. With that I think I should start by telling you guys a little about myself. Apart from DJ OLLIE I am otherwise known as Oliver. A loving father to a puppy, recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign, a firefighter/EMT-Basic, and your overall heart throb <3
Russell ‘Russy’ Mayapis
Currently, I am a single father to my puppy Russell (I named him after Russell from UP 🙂 Russell is a Black Lab mixed with Husky (I think). I always wanted dog ever since I was little. My mother, god bless her, told me that my two older brothers were allergic to dogs and that we couldn’t have one in the house. Long story short I found out just a year ago that neither of my brothers are allergic and my loving mother was simply lying to me 🙁
Any who this picture was taken when Russell was about 10 weeks. Technically I was suppose to get a puppy once I graduated college – this was suppose to be a graduation gift to myself – but one December morning a friend called me asking if I wanted to adopt this adorable, cute, FLUFFY, puppy. With that Russell is now apart of the Mayapis household and loved by the whole family (including my once anti-dog mother). I like to think that Russell is representative of life. Sometimes you can have everything figured out but life will always surprises you 🙂
In addition to being a single father I am also a probationary Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician with Edge-Scott Fire Protection District in Urbana, IL. Ultimately I am apart of a department sworn to protect the lives of 1500-2000 people. I simply love helping people. Wether its making people dance and have a good time or saving someone from a burning building (I have yet to do this so don’t think too highly of me). I get the satisfaction that I know I am making a difference in peoples lives. As of now I am currently in the process of applying to other fire departments in the greater Chicagoland area.
Hopefully one day our dogs can play together, be your DJ at the club/party your at, and save you in a fire…. Not so much the last one but you get the idea.
