Exactly 1 year ago I recorded my first mix on my newly bought Serato SL3, opened a Soundcloud account, and uploaded the mix for all of you to download and enjoy. It was the first mix you all heard Abet’s DJ drops for me too. It was an exciting time and I consider it to be a minor milestone for me as a DJ. How fitting that our X-Fade Sunday rotation fell on me this week.
We also happen to be approaching one year since X-Fade was “reborn” which includes the launch of this website. We can’t thank you all enough for your support throughout the last year from downloading our mixes to attending our gigs. Things can only continue to get better for us and we look forward to having you with us along the way!
I’ve received good feedback about my last two summertime mixes. This week’s mix was inspired by the sick house music I’ve heard from going out in the city this month. I started off with some electro-pop, threw in bits and pieces of funk and dubstep, and finished off with some progressive house with that electronic synth that I can’t get enough of!
It’s almost AUGUST so hope you all continue to enjoy the summer while it lasts!
